Overview:

Professor Yaw Nyarko hosted a conversation with artists from Chester, PA, reflecting on a transformative cultural exchange in Kumawu, Ghana that connected African American and Ghanaian artists through shared heritage and collaborative artmaking. Professor Nyarko was the convenor and moderator. The artists shared how their experience in Ghana inspired new creative directions and plans to develop an African American-owned arts district in Chester, while emphasizing the ongoing impact of cross-cultural dialogue between the diaspora and Africa.
