Prof. Yaw Nyarko Hosts AIM for Scale Advisory Retreat in NYU Abu Dhabi

In January 21 - 22 at NYU Abu Dhabi—together with Professor Yaw Nyarko, Vice Chair of the AIM for Scale Advisory Panel and NYU Professor of Economics—was honored to host leading academics, including Nobel Laureate and University of Chicago Professor Michael Kremer, alongside government officials and key stakeholders in agricultural development for the AIM for Scale Strategic Advisory Retreat.

Funded by the Gates Foundation and the International Affairs Office at the UAE’s Presidential Court, AIM for Scale is a global initiative that scales evidence-based, cost-effective innovations to improve farmer livelihoods and strengthen food security in low and middle-income countries by mobilizing the financial, technical, and operational resources required for impact at scale.

Following its first year of operation, the two-day retreat provided an opportunity to review AIM for Scale’s progress to date and to set the strategic vision for the initiative’s next phase. At the end of the retreat, AIM for Scale hosted a dinner to introduce its mission to key stakeholders and members of the Econometrics Society.

NYU Abu Dhabi is proud to host the AIM for Scale Secretariat and looks forward to providing continued support as the initiative advances toward its goal of reaching 100 million farmers across 11 countries with high-impact innovations, including digital advisory services and AI-based weather forecasting, by 2030.
